For Roads - Now Wadgaon Sheri Housing Society knocks the door of Bombay High Court, file PIL against PMC.




In case of any emergency, it is very difficult for rescue vehicles such as Fire Brigade or Ambulance to reach Kumar Primavera Housing Society. Even the school bus operators have started refusing to come and pick up school going children. All this because the Pune Municipal Corporation has given permission to builders to construct the Housing complex but has not bothered or acted to build public access roads. Kumar Primavera Housing Society does not have a public access road!

The residents are depending on a narrow piece of muddy and dangerous, private passage which connects them with the external road.

The situation is so bad that the senior citizens, pregnant ladies, school children and working category persons all are living under mixed feelings of fear and deprivation. They are in an urgent requirement of basic need of road connectivity with rest of the Pune.

The incomplete patches of road have now turned into dumping ground and has accumulated heaps of garbage. Illegal activities take place in dark on such spots adding to the woes of the residents.

Development Plan for Wadgaon Sheri, Kharadi was first drafted in year 2005, by Pune Municipal Corporation and sanctioned by the State Government in 2012 and improved in 2014 and a 30-Meter-wide DP road between S. No 52 and S. No 53, offering access to the neighbourhood consisting of the Kumar Primavera Housing Society was sanctioned in the said Development Plan. The said access road is remaining in incomplete even till date and over several thousands of residents of the area are left with no access road. The road has been partially constructed in year 2014 and is existing alongside Kumar Primavera Housing Society. Even after several representations, meetings with the Authorities and Elected representatives by the residents there is complete inaction from the Pune Municipal Corporation and other since (2007) past 15 years. PMC executives have orally cited difficulty in acquiring land from private landowners. The PMC has authority to acquire the land for completing the said DP Road. The issue is affecting over 550 residents of the Kumar Primavera Housing Society and 2000 residents of the region and the residents of Pune at large.
