Aadhaar Card is safe. EARLIER STATEMENT WITHDRAWN BY GOVERNMENT WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

In view of the recent mis-interpretations of press release dated 27.05 regarding Aadhaar card misuse, the Ministry of IT has withdrawn its earlier press statement with immidiate effect.
Aadhaar card holders are only advised to exercise normal prudence in using and sharing their UIDAI Aadhaar numbers.
Aadhar system has provided adequate features for protecting and safeguarding the identitiy and privacy of the Aadhaar card holder.
The aspects related with safety, security and privacy in context to Aadhaar have already been extensively dealt with by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the matter of Justice Puttaswamy Vs Union of India in year 2018.
