During November 2020, in the matter of Arnab Goswami, The Hon'ble Supreme Court of India granted him interim bail. The stand-up comedian made several defamatory statements on social media against the Apex Court.
The Attorney General of India Mr. K. K Venugopal gave consent to Adv. Satya Muley to initiate Criminal Contempt proceedings against the Stand-Up Comedian.
One of Kamra's tweets depicted a photo of the Supreme Court building in saffron Colour, with the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) flag over it instead of the Tricolour. Another Tweet of Kamra said, "DY Chandrachud is a flight attendant serving champagne to the first class passengers after they get fast tracked through, while commoners don't know they'll be ever be boarded or seated, let alone seated."
Calling it an insult to the Judicial System, Adv Satya says "Criticism and comedy both can be tolerated to a certain extent. One can-not insult the highest Court of the country and its Judges. This is insulting to the entire legal community..."
