Lands reserved for Public Amenity Spaces belong to Public, Pune Municipal Corporation cannot sell such lands - Adv. Satya Muley.

This is in context to various news reports about the decision being taken by PMC to sell off 118 plots worth over 500 Crores, which are reserved for Public amenities in PMC region including land parcels in Balewadi, Baner areas and other prime location in Pune.

Speaking about the notice Adv. Satya Muley said "I am infuriated about this decision as the selling of amenity spaces is a serious issue. Taking note of the concerns of the residents, a Legal Notice U/s 80 of CPC has been issued on 22nd of October 2020, from Adv. Satya Muley to the PMC Commissioner, The District Collector, The Chief Secretary Maharashtra State. It is a subject of grave concern and if required, we will move the High Court and Supreme Court if needed."

Within 24 hours of receiving the Legal Notice the PC authorities have issued the following statement "We will take people into confidence and then the decision will be taken. We have also reviewed the legal notice, and hence commissioner would take a call on it."
